Sample Career Path
"My career path has held a variety of technology-related positions.
I started as a software engineer, where I did telecommunications programming.
I've also been a business application programmer, a technical wirer,
and a web developer. Because they're all technical jobs, I already had
the basic skills needed for each position. However, each job did require
some specific training, which I received in workshops and seminars offered
at work. I also learned a lot on my own by reading manuals and taking
free on-line courses." -- Kim

Typical Work Day
"In a typical workday, I spend about half of my time at my desk
writing computer programs. I also have a lot of interaction with the
people
who use the computer system, and I have receive several calls
each day from members of the Financial Aid staff, with problems or
questions
they have while working on the system. At least once or twice
a day, I walk over to their building to work on a problem or process
in their
offices." -- Kim |
