ICSPS is pleased to reveal a tool to highlight the achievement of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Special Populations learners. The Hurdling Obstacles to Provide Excellence for Society (HOPES) Award recognition model offers an opportunity to recognize individual learners, as well as to showcase CTE programs at your school, increase awareness of the CTE contributions to the community, and broaden the partnerships of business and industry working together for the success of CTE learners.
The documents contained in the HOPES packet outline the HOPES Award Recognition Model; a model developed with input from the field, including CTSO student leaders, CTE learners, teachers, advisors, and other professionals, as well as guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education. The model is designed in a broad, flexible manner to be responsive to local needs. Schools, career centers, or other CTE organizations wishing to implement this award model will find the tools needed to successfully launch a HOPES award.
