The purpose of the New Look Project Self-Study is to enable educational organizations to identify strengths and challenges in recruiting and retaining learners preparing for nontraditional occupations. The New Look Project Self-Study is flexibly designed because each CTE program interacts with local educational organizations in a unique way. This newly developed online tool allows for a more coordinated effort of self-study by a team of individuals at an educational entity. Additionally, the computerized version of our NTO Look Self-Study provides assistance in gathering, tallying and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to utilize in program improvement. The NTO Look Self-Study enables educational organizations to identify strengths and challenges in programs which prepare learners for occupations which are nontraditional with regard to gender. The study is flexibly designed to fit the unique dimensions in which nontraditional occupations (NTO) programs function within educational organizations. The aim of the self-study process is the formation of realistic goals which are based upon completion of a thorough and data-based assessment of nontraditional offerings.
